THE TREASURY

In this work, the façade of Al-Khazneh rises from the canvas as it rises from stone: an ancient monument carved by human hands yet sculpted further by centuries of wind, light, and shifting desert colour. I have always been moved by places where nature and culture intertwine, where human creativity stands both in harmony and in contrast with the landscape that holds it. Through layered veils of oil, I try to capture the quiet radiance of that meeting point — the carved marble-like surfaces, the warm rose hues of the canyon, the sense of entering a sacred threshold.

This painting reflects my belief that art, like Petra itself, is shaped slowly over time: by patience, by curiosity, and by a deep reverence for the world’s enduring beauty.
