CENARTH FALLS

Cenarth Falls is a painting rooted in memory, movement, and a deep affection for the landscape that shaped my life as a mother and an artist. Set along the River Teifi, with the old mill standing watch as it has for generations, this scene holds a quiet magic that I have always loved to paint. The trees lean gently toward the rushing water, and the falls themselves shimmer with that ever-changing light that makes painting water both a challenge and a joy.

Cenarth is where I raised my children — where we stood together on cool mornings watching salmon leap against the current, where the coracle fishermen glided across the surface in their ancient round boats, leaving ripples like signatures behind them. Much has changed over the years, as places inevitably do, yet the river continues to meander with the same old rhythm, swelling in the rain, settling in the sunshine, holding its timeless conversation with the land.

This painting is both a tribute to that constancy and a celebration of the memories held in its flowing water and familiar stones. It is a place where time feels suspended, where past and present meet gently on the river’s edge.
